Whenever I joined a new software company - I was always far more interested into looking into their technology stack; and what solutions they had in place for what ... and why ... and how.
Needless to say, the learning curve to some things can make you seem quite ignorant - which is in fact the case - but, that is in fact where we all must start learning.
In many cases, in a quest to learn and understand more, I pushed beyond the scope of anything related to any particular description of my job.
That said; if I ignore others judgements, I did quite a good job of both completing the work required of me and understanding the environment in which I existed.
I am proud of everything I have learned and proven myself able to accomplish; least of most getting a job.
How others may think or feel about this judgement of myself is of little consequence; although I suspect it will reveal as much about themselves as myself.
