My thoughts on trust... when you see a person do it; you can trust that they are capable of doing it again.
We are about to let someone who orchestrated a terrorist attack (insurrection) against the United States capital simply because he lost the election, run again. When the time comes he loses another election, we should expect him to behave exactly the same - especially if that person says they will.
It bears repeating, this is the only attack on the U.S. capitol since the era that was the founding of the country.
An amendment to the constitution (the basis of law itself) is on the books for anyone who attempts to overthrow the government not being allowed to hold any high office, this is due to the Civil War.
